Permit Process
The City of Greenville has its own Building Permits & Inspections department, separate from Greenville County Building Codes. Addresses within Greenville city limits pull permits through the City; addresses in unincorporated Greenville County use Greenville County Building Codes at 301 University Ridge. Fees for a residential screened porch typically run $250–600 depending on project valuation, and approval takes 7–14 business days. Projects attaching to an existing roofline may require a structural plan review, which we prepare as part of our standard permit package. We verify the correct jurisdiction for every Greenville address before filing — city vs. county can be 2 miles apart in some areas.
