ScreenPorchBuilder.com is an independent guide. It does not build porches, bid work, or take a cut of your project. It is operated by C. Scott Burch, who also owns Burch Contracting — a porch contractor listed in the directory this page links to. That is a real conflict of interest, and it is stated plainly in the ownership disclosure rather than buried.
The directory is ours too. The Screen Porch Builders directory at pros.screenporchbuilder.com is run by the same owner as this site: contractors pay for listing plans, higher plans get better placement in its search results, and homeowners search free. This site is not the contractor of record on any job. Verify every license yourself and get a written local bid before you sign.

Check the license yourself
Most states require a licence for residential work above a low dollar threshold — in South Carolina it is $200. Look the number up on your state board's own site before you sign, and check that the name on the licence matches the name going on your contract.

The calculator on this site is a national planning range. Lumber, labour and permit costs vary 20–30% between metros. Never budget off an average — get a written, line-item bid from someone who has stood on your slab.
